CLICK A BRICK

From the late 1700s to the mid-1900s, the Hudson River Brick Industry was one of the largest manufacturing industries in New York State— providing bricks to the building of New York City and River Towns up and down the Hudson. By 1860, there were combined over 88 brickyards on the Hudson River, each with its own unique brand mark. This ongoing project connects historical buildings with the brickyard’s brand marks and takes us behind the scenes to the communities that built them.
